Meet our Staff
Mr. Bert Van Dyk
Owner
Bert has been in the grading industry for over 50 years. He joined the Operating Engineers Union in 1954 after serving in the United States Army during the Korean war. Bert bought his first dozer (D8-46A) in 1969 as an owner operator and became Van Dyk Tractor Rental. During this time Bert invested in more equipment (JD 860 scraper, D8 dozer). After operating for several years he decided to acquire his contractors license and in 1987 Van Dyk Engineering was born. Bert started Level One Engineering in December of 2003 and now has many pieces of equipment and has become a well respected full service grading company.
Bert Van Dyk has a lovely wife Juanita, four children and eight grandchildren. Bert currently resides in Mission Viejo, Ca.
Mr. Jeff Riley
Superintendent
Jeff joined Bert in 1994 as superintendent. Jeff's talents were instantly realized and he pretty much took over the field. Jeff coordinates all of the rental equipment and grading operations working closely with our foremen and clients. If anyone needs to know what's going on at Level One, Jeff is the man to talk to. His responsibilities include field operations, estimating, job coordination and project management. As you can see, he is a man of many talents. Jeff is always on the phone !!!!
Jeff Riley and his son currently resides in Bloomington Ca.
Mr. Phillip Peterson
Estimator-Project Manager
Phil joined in 1997 as a field Foreman. Working closely with Bert and Jeff, he soon acquired the position of Project Manager. When the position became available, Phil moved to estimating. Building 3D models and becoming the GPS guru, he leads the estimating department and Project Manages.

Phil lives in Murrieta Ca. and has a wonderful wife Kathie and five children.
Mrs. Denise Johnson
Secretary-Treasurer
Denise is our treasurer in charge of all the accounting in the office. She handles accounts receivable, accounts payable and keeps records on all of our jobs. All job related billing and receiving goes through Denise. Level One Engineering would be lost without her. She has been working for her father
Bert Van Dyk since 1983.
Denise resides in Coto de Caza Ca. with her husband Dave and their three children.
Mrs. Stacey Iannotti
Office Manager
That lovely voice answering our phones is none other than Stacey Iannotti. Stacey comes to Level One with ten years construction experience. She takes care of our office and helps Denise on our billing and payroll. Keeping up on communication with our clients, Stacey is often the person they talk with for office related matters. From ordering rental equipment to processing contracts, she seems to do it all.
Stacey, her husband Mike and their two sons live in Lake Forest, Ca.
